Fraternal Greetings Brethren! On the Level. By the Plumb. Upon the Square. More than just words… words to live by. We teach, in Freemasonry, that we are to act and walk uprightly before GOD and Man. We are to Help, Aid, and Assist a Brother. We are to value the INTERNAL qualifications of a man and view what is in his heart. The tenants of our institution are well contained in the extreme points, yet we see that what is contained in our breasts isn’t always what is preferred in Freemasonry. So, then, where are we? It is important that we not only teach these ideals to our lesser informed brethren, but to live this ourselves and keep Freemasonry alive in our hearts everyday. There should be no discord among Masons, yet there are dissentions within our ranks in our Lodge. We no longer distinguish ourselves from any other organization when we allow politics and egos to quell the very things that made us want to become Masons. Every once in a while we need to step back and take a look at the WHOLE picture. What is best for the group isn’t always to the liking of the individual. Yet, individuals make up the group. Difficult though it may be, we need to take a step back sometimes and look at ourselves. When we have ourselves together, we can help keep the group united. As you see and hear things happening in the Lodge, look beyond now, and see how it will affect our WHOLE group beyond NOW. If you don’t concur with something that you hear, come to Lodge and voice your opinion. If you have an idea, we are eager for you to share it, and help implement it. Your participation and support of OUR Lodge helps keep OUR Lodge ALIVE AND WELL. Yours in the Craft, RW Leon “Hoppy” Cassidy, PGC Worshipful Master 2008
